Pierre, South Dakota Airport Expansion Project

Crews remove soil from a borrow source for the Pierre, South Dakota Airport Expansion Project. The project was an ARRA project with special airport security provided by A-G-E personnel as the borrow source was outside the secure boundaries of the airport. All borrow was hauled with scrapers vs trucks which helped keep costs within budget.

ARRA Project

Another ARRA project was in Stanley County in central South Dakota on the outskirts of Ft Pierre. On state Hwy 1806 crews set a double 11x5 precast that is on a drainage that has over 2 miles of length but has a vertical drop of 300' in those 2 miles. When this drainage runs water it moves a lot. Traffic counts on this section of highway approach 3000 per day as it serves many recreation areas on the Missouri River. It was a key component for future development of Ft Pierre.

Double 12x8 Precast Box Culvert

Crews install a double 12x8 precast box culvert in Marshall County in NE South Dakota. The new structure set was installed under active traffic and provided the flood prone section of SD HWY 27 additional drainage in a troublesome spot where the SDDOT had water over the road yearly, for days at a time.
